Selling Homes via Internet - Inhouse Issue 16

May 30, 2008 02:39

There is a real buzz in the sales department following the first training sessions on Mactaggart & Mickel’s new online reservation service.

Web specialists Mine Digital have been teaching sales consultants how to operate the new system, which allows buyers to reserve properties at the touch of a button.

Mactaggart & Mickel is believed to be the first house builder in Scotland to offer an online reservation service, enabling buyers to secure their dream home 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The service has now been launched for buyers at its new Campsie Village development in Lennoxtown, East Dumbartonshire but will eventually be rolled out to all of the Company’s new sites across Scotland.

Jenny Harvie, Marketing Coordinator, said: ‘We know that buying a house is an emotional decision and that buyers often visit a show home and then wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat because they haven’t gone ahead and reserved the property at the time’.

‘Everyone has such busy lives these days it is often difficult for buyers to get back to the sales office to reserve a property they have seen before it is snapped up by someone else’.

Sales Consultant Debs Smith-Campbell said: ‘It is a fantastic tool and really easy to use. It’s definitely the way forward for reservations. A lot of people are cash rich and time poor and just cant afford to take the time to make several visits to the sales office to fill in the reservation form and checklist.’

Mactaggart & Mickel has invested £30,000 in the innovative system.
